This was my first show. It will always be special for that, duh! I had never heard a note of Phish before walking into the Michigan Theater that snowy night. I enjoyed it more than any other concert I'd attended at that point and they made me a fan for life. The Big Ball Jam impressed me, I immediately loved Contact and Ester. Good Times Bad Times being the only song I knew was icing on the cake. Thank you Phish, you are the best.

This was their first time at the Michigan Theater, nineteenth show of fall tour. Good recording of this show, although Coil is missing for some reason.

Nice Jim to open up with even though it sounds like they almost forgot to sing the last verse before the jam. Ice has really improved tonight. Well done. Pen was also pretty good. Stash had some off spots, but otherwise good. Lizards almost fell apart during Page's solo section, but Fish got them right back on. Chalkdust was rocking as usual. Guelah was well played and featured lots of announcements as per the show notes. Sparkle was good. My Friend has also improved quite a bit. They must have really been working on these although the sound check doesn't reflect that. Memories was good and included the usual shushing. Bowie again has so much foolishness in the intro that Fish messes up the actual start of the song. It's a good Bowie though, and a great way to end the set.

Hey Dinner is back! I know it's only been ten days, but it seems this one is getting rarer. This one is well played. Mike's Song was good, followed by a brief Vibration segment before an ok Hydrogen. Weekapaug was also well done as was Esther, the new Axilla, and Bouncing. Paul and Silas was very soft in the middle and featured the Big Ball Jam, which seemed to take forever. Waiting for the crowd to shoot baskets I suppose. Coil was missing from the recording. Faht was it's usual funny self with Fishman plucking away while the crowd cracks jokes and makes animal noises with the backing track. Possum was rocking and seemed to have Flat Fee teases from Trey during his solo section. Great closer to a good solid second set.

Hey Contact is also back! This one is ok with some funny interplay of words at the end from Mike. A rocking GTBT sends everyone home in style with Page tearing through the vocal jam at the end. Well played.

This was a really good show to listen to. A minimal amount of mistakes were made, improved new material, secret language, and funny stuff from Mike and Fishman. On to Canada!
