Review by Mac2300

Mac2300 So, I'm kind of surprised there haven't been any reviews of Phish 2019-06-25 since the immediate post-show period. I went to both Bangor shows, this one and 6/26. Although I'm no veteran of Phish show attendance, I've heard a lot of live recordings. This show was a really excellent performance, and in truth, there were no weak parts. We were all there, standing in the intermittent rain, with the flashing lights and smoke plumes, entranced and enveloped by the quartet's incredible playing. Highlights for me were Back on the Train, Bathtub Gin, Waves>Julius (as another reviewer said), and the whole 2nd set, which was mind-blowing. Down with Disease and Meatstick were particularly memorable. Recalling the greatest shows of the 90s I can't give this one 5 stars, but it definitely gets a very solid 4 stars. So memorable that I bought the official 24/96 SBD recording (which I almost never do), and have been very happy with it.

I'm not sure where the first reviewer was...I wonder if they were actually at this show, as they seem more interested in political bickering and posturing than talking about the music. This person also seems quite out of touch with the band's POV, because Trey mentioned during tthe first set how they always "felt at home" in Maine. In any case, let's stick to the music Pholks, and forget all the other hoopla, please! Why create divisions where there aren't any?

Peace out,
Mac
